IHS LINK CREW IN ACTION
LINK CREW TRAINING
Initially, our new Link Crew Leaders must attend two days of intense training in order to prepare for Freshman Orientation and the year of mentoring their assigned mentees. Leaders continue training throughout the year to stay up-to-date with the skills they need to work effectively with their freshmen Crews.
FRESHMEN ORIENTATION
Every August, IHS Link Crew hosts its freshmen orientation. Incoming freshmen attend a fun-filled day in which they get to know their classmates, their Leaders, and their new school.
At the end of the day, our freshmen are equipped with information to help them succeed at IHS and the knowledge that Link Crew and IHS care about their freshman experience.
SOCIAL FOLLOW-UPS
Our Link Crew plans fun on-campus events, both during and after school, that help Leaders and their Crews build connections and helps freshmen learn they are part of a caring team.
LINK LESSONS
Once a month, Freshmen get an academic lesson from two Link Leaders in their first period class. These lessons are fun activites that provide academic morals.
INDIVIDUALITY OF CREWS
Our Link Leaders don't wait until Social Follow-ups and Link Lessons to interact with their members of their freshmen Crew. They schedule lunches, celebrate birthdays, and other things to bond with their Crews.
COLOR EXTRAVAGANZA
Our color run is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk/skip/run through the City of Imperial. Throughout the course, runners are immersed in intense colored corn starch. All this color is the making for a color extravanganza!
